A Picture in a Picture

January 26, 2010

I wanted to share my other cutie real quick because she was awesome yesterday and let me take some photos.  Even though she was at home sick from Mother’s Day Out with a horrible cough, her mood was still great.  She’s still home today, but I think she’s doing a ton better.  I know she’s ready to stop coughing and so are we – it’s hard to hear her like that.  Anyway, I got some wonderful pictures of our little tornado.  I was so happy because I’ve been asking her for a while and she promised me on Sunday that I could do a “mini photo shoot” on Monday – yep, we even shook on the deal. LOL

This is certainly not my idea, I’ve seen other photographers do pictures similar to this one, so I thought I would try my hand at it as well.  I love how it turned out.  Kasen thought it was pretty cool too. :)

There are so many pictures that are just hilarious, Kasen is SO expressive.  However; I chose this pic of her adorable face smiling because it reminds that for *maybe* a few seconds each day, that she can actually be still. LOL  I’ll have to make a collage of the other ones though, because they really showcase her fun and vibrant personality.  Love, love, love that girl. :)

It’s Official . . . .

January 26, 2010

Holden is STILL in the 95th percentile for weight and the 90th percentile for height – exact same percentages from his last doctor’s visit.  Yep, he’s a bruiser, but a sweet one, and a consistent one at that.  He had his six month doctor’s appointment this morning, even though he turned seven months old yesterday.  It was too hard to get him in when he turned six months, because that was Christmas time and then, well, I had this little knee surgery to contend with.  Anyway, it’s done and he did GREAT.  This is the little one who can cry buckets of tears at home when something doesn’t go his way, but today he cried just a little and NO TEARS.  I could not believe it.  Where were those tears that flow so freely on a daily basis?  Seriously, I’m not complaining, just surprised, pleasantly. :)  The doctor said that he looked like a banker with that bottom lip sticking out all the time, the nurse took one look at those thighs and there came the linebacker comment LOL, and when I checked out, I was told several times how cute he is.  Yes, yes, I know we have a cutie on our hands!! ;)

Our sweetheart, our son, the  final chapter in our long family building journey.  He has such a sweet nature, loves to cuddle, he’s very sensitive, crazy strong, his big sister makes him laugh the most, and when his father enters the room, his whole face lights up. He has the best giggle and he can hurt your ears with his screeching like a dinosaur. LOL He is one precious little guy!

I decided to do a quick photo shoot this evening and I got tons of cute shots – Holden was really cooperative.  It was so cute.  Kasen was hugging him tonight and said “I really love Holden.  He’s a rock star!’ LOL  Yep, he is. :)

Silly Sweetheart

January 20, 2010

Soft, sweet, cuddly, adorable, lovely Kasen:

Then there’s funny, spirited, silly, energetic, exuberant Kasen: :)  Shower spitting – a new sport. LOL

Two sides of our incredible girl – love her to pieces!!!!

Rough Morning

January 19, 2010

Yep, poor little guy.  Teething, disturbed nap from taking big sister to school, mad at Mommy for not getting his bottle fast enough (I still don’t move too fast after knee surgery!).  Just plain all around cranky.  Not even five seconds after taking this pic I had him laughing.  And then we went right back to cranky.  He’s now sleeping thank goodness.  Time for me to put my knee up and rest it a bit – there’s a reason why my doctor didn’t send me to physical therapy.  He asked if I had little ones at home and when I told him “yes,” he said, “Yep, there’s your therapy right there.” LOL  Truer words have never been spoken. ;)

Doesn’t this picture just make you want to scoop him right up?  And yes, I did. ;)

I Heart Faces Photo Contest

January 18, 2010

This week’s theme for I Heart Faces is “We Are Family” and must have at least one adult in the photo.  I went in my daughter’s room one night and saw my husband with our children during story time.  I knew I needed to seize the moment on film, so I ran and grabbed my camera.  I’m so glad I did because it melts my heart every time I see this pic – knowing how special this is each and every night.  It’s one of the special times that I remember sharing with my Dad and my brother every evening. I love that my children are experiencing the same thing with their father.

All you have to do with Holden is give him a bath – anytime, anywhere, and he is HAPPY. :)  He was splashing so hard while I was taking these pics that my entire countertop was flooded, on both sides!!  And my Mom was standing behind him while I was shooting . . . just in case.  You can’t be too careful with this precious little chubba-chubba.  Seriously, don’t you just LOVE those rolls?!  Cuteness factor x10!!! ;)

Random Pics

January 13, 2010

I’ve been taking pictures everyday, but I just haven’t been posting them.  My goal is to get at least one picture a day for the year 2010.  I may not get to posting them all, but I do have them documented in a calendar elsewhere.  That way, I will have this year documented without having to do much else.  I may even make it into a scrapbook.  If you know me at all, I’m not great at follow-through, so it’s HUGE that I’m even telling you this now. ;)

Anyway, I wanted to share some of the pics I’ve taken in the last few days.

My absolutely stunning, wonderful, precious girl.

My funny, sweet, sensitive boy.

The ducklings that Kasen and I discovered at the park yesterday.  Aren’t they precious?!

Our beautiful bushes in our backyard.  I love the gorgeous red and gold colors that they turn in the fall.

That’s all for now!  See ya’ later!!

I Heart Faces Photo Contest

January 12, 2010

This week’s photo contest for I Heart Faces is “Best Face Photo.”  It also has to have been taken within the past few months.  I took this photo on January 9, 2010 in our front living room.  I was/still am recovering from knee surgery and I wanted to take a quick break from laying in bed to get a few pics.  What could be better for recovery than to take some photos of this precious face.  I took quite a few that I love, but this one makes me laugh every single time! :)

Super Cute

January 9, 2010

Yep, our little dude is super cute.  My goal was to get some good shots of Kasen and Holden together, and believe it or not, Kasen was the cooperative one! LOL Holden just wasn’t having it. He was fine as long as he had the spotlight all to himself though. ;) Sooo, I got a few great shots of Holden solo, and I’m really pleased with them.  Of course, everything goes in his mouth right now because he is teething big time.  I’m thinking one of those little suckers should pop out pretty quick.  I’m betting his top right one will be next.  We’ll see.

As for me, I’m still slowly recovering, but I’m not in as much pain this evening thank goodness.  I did have an allergic reaction to the iodine that was used in surgery and I still have a lovely rash on my leg and it’s quite itchy.  I’m hoping that will be gone soon.  Leave it to me to have something like that happen.  Oh well, like I always say, it could be worse! :)

Since I’m not adding a pic of Kasen tonight, I’ll leave you with one of our funny conversations.

Kasen: “Mommy, can you walk?”

Me: “Well, not very well yet.”

Kasen: “But you can limp, right?”

Me: “Yes, I can limp.”

Kasen: “So you can limp-walk!” LOL :)

Funny girl – I love to hear how she thinks.

Okay, here’s the dude ~
