Happy Halloween!!!!

October 31, 2009

Pumpkins, candy, hayrides, picnics, fall festivals, petting zoos, running through mazes made of hay, pony rides, trunk-or-treat, cotton candy, corny dogs, trick-or-treating, popcorn, dressing up, making crafts, feeding the goats, barrel rides, bean bag tosses, bounce houses, pumpkin rolling, and more.  Whew!!!!  These are just some of the fun things we’ve been doing this October.  I hope your October was full of fun as well. :D

From Kasen – Happy Halloween!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

I Heart Faces Photo Contest

October 27, 2009

This week’s theme at I Heart Faces is “Halloween Dress-Up” and I knew immediately I wanted a picture of our Chunky Monkey in his monkey costume. ;)  I took some pics this afternoon with a very uncooperative subject LOL, and this was my best one.  I still want to get a great shot with his signature smile.  Now that he has a tooth to show off, I’d like to get that in the pics too.  Yep, you heard that right, he has his first tooth!!  It popped up the day before he turned four months old.  And you know what, Kasen’s first tooth popped up the day before she turned four months old too.  Isn’t that wild??!! :)

Since I’m throwing in news, here’s the BEST yet – we finalized this little monkey last Thursday – he is now and forever legally ours!!!!  Woooohooooooo!!!! :D

Okay, back to the contest. LOL  If you want to check out some really cute characters in all the other entries, go here ~  I Heart Faces.

Yep, he’s a chunker all right, all the way down to his toes. :D  And really, look at this cute baby bum – how much more chubba chubba can you get?! LOL  We laugh at those rolls daily. My Mom affectionately said that he looked like he had a spare tire around his middle. LOL  He shakes that whole body when he laughs too – he just about turns inside out he gets so excited.  Kasen came up with a great word today, she said, “He squeagles.”  And you know what, he does squeagle, he squeals and giggles at the same time and he instantly makes all your cares fade away when you see that big, open mouthed, drooly smile.  I think I can even forgive him for not having any patience whatsoever, because when he gets excited like that and squeagles, my heart just melts.  Yours would too. ;)

And no, he doesn’t weigh 14 pounds, more like 16 and a half, probably pushing 17 by now.  He was just SO excited to be in the buff, that he couldn’t stop wiggling, causing the arrow on the scale to go haywire.  I wasn’t going for precision anyway, just trying to capture the cuteness factor. :)  Mission accomplished. :D

Eight Years

October 21, 2009

Seriously, eight years . . . . . how can it be?? :(  Eight years ago today we delivered our sweet firstborn daughter, our precious Halle pumpkin.  Our much awaited, much loved child was born into Heaven, breaking our hearts into a million pieces.  Our lives have changed so much since that day.  We are definitely busier now, our house is cluttered with toys and baby clothes, we’re completely sleep deprived, and yes, we finally have sticky fingerprints on the walls . . and the TV, and the furniture, and the doorknobs. ;)  However; they are not Halle’s fingerprints and I will continue to miss those and every one of her milestones as long as I live. *tears*

Little Peanut

October 17, 2009

I got to meet Peanut, the dog, today.  Sooo precious.  My friend and her son came over for a super speedy photo session.  She wanted just a few quick snaps of her son and Peanut together before Peanut grew too much more.  However; I don’t really think there is a huge chance of that happening! LOL  She’s only five months old here, but she still isn’t going to be a big bruiser by any means. ;)

You can really tell how much Caleb adores his new puppy, so sweet. :)  Here they are Deb, hope you like them!! :)

When Lipstick Goes Wrong

October 15, 2009

Kasen is definitely feeling better – she was hanging, swinging, jumping, and tumbling all over the house today. LOL  She did have another horrible night of coughing, and I kept trying to get her to be a *little* calmer today because all that energy would set her coughing off again.

She decided to have a fashion show today, strewing clothes all over the house.  Ugh.  Along with that fashion show, a mini make-up session ensued.  She was sooo proud of herself when she showed me. LOL  Seriously, I HAD to take a picture of her artwork. However; she finally realized it didn’t look too great. She kept pointing above her lip and saying, “Well, I think this looks a little stupid.” LOL

Even with lipstick all over her face, she is still a beauty. ;)

See ya’ later!!

October 14, 2009

Yep, Kasen is quarantined through Friday evening.  She has that dreaded flu – the H1N1.  It all started on Friday, and by Sunday evening, she seemed to be kicking it.  We thought it was just some kind of stomach bug.  Then Monday morning, it all hit!!  It was bad. I’ve never seen Kasen so sick before. :(  I called her pediatrician, gave the nurse all the symptoms and she said to bring her in right away.  We dropped off Holden at Mae Mae and Papa’s house – he’s still there by the way.  We thought it was best to keep him away from Kasen since he’s so little.  The doctor said that he was too young for any medication, so keeping his distance is the best thing right now.  Even though I miss him terribly, I know it’s for the best.

Well, after several doses of Tamiflu, Kasen was back to scootering around the house.  Literally, scootering! LOL  She has a Disney Princess scooter that has rubber wheels and she has been motoring around the house at record speeds.  Today was her first full day of feeling a LOT better.  It was obvious to me because she was getting into EVERYTHING – that means our “Kasen normal” is emerging once again. ;)   I caught her on our bed today standing on a stool trying to turn the ceiling fan off.  YIKES!! It really was a lot easier when she felt bad. LOL  Even though she’s slowly getting better; she did have a rough night coughing last night, but she is oh so much better, thank goodness.

Kasen and I went out in the backyard today for a brief play.  And it was brief alright, it was like a sauna out there.  After about ten minutes, Kasen said she was soaked. haha  I much prefer the rainy, cool, cloudy days.  I’m starting to think I should be living in Seattle!  Anyway, I wish you could see the difference in her between Monday and today.  I almost took a picture on Monday of her, but I was too busy cuddling my sick pumpkin.  Sooo, you’ll have to take my word for it that she looks a thousand times better today.  Our sweet, gorgeous girl is on the mend!! Yahooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! :)

I Heart Faces Photo Contest

October 13, 2009

This week’s theme at  I Heart Faces is “Excitement” – I chose this photograph because I just thought it was so cute of Kasen.  She was SO excited that she received a birthday card ON her birthday from her Mimi.  It helped that the envelope was PINK (her favorite color) AND she loved the bright circles on the envelope as well.  This was Kasen’s classic excitement face and it was always followed by an audible “Ohhhhhhhhh.” :)

Don’t forget to check out all the other great entries here – I Heart Faces
