A Day of P’s

May 31, 2008

Princess playing poolside possessing purple popsicle.

She LOVES that purple thing (as she calls it).  It really is a cool invention.  It catches all the drips and she enjoys holding it better than the stick.  You turn it over and it will hold an ice cream cone.  We haven't ventured there yet!! LOL

See ya' tomorrow!!

Friday Fun

Just The Two Of Us

May 26, 2008

Wow, we never get pics like this anymore . . you know, just the two of us . . . and I’m so glad we took the time and put forth the effort. :)

I have a few favorites out of the bunch.  We took the pics with the camera on a tripod.  I set the interval timer to go off every two seconds, started it after I looked through the view finder, making sure the camera was set up just right, then took my position.  The hardest part is knowing when to get up and stop the timer again . . not having a clue what kind of pictures you got!  Well, here’s what we did get . . just the two of us.  Now if that song will just stop playing over and over in my head, I’ll be a happy camper!! LOL

Fun In The Sun

May 25, 2008

More sun therapy . . . in between coughing attacks . . . from Kasen, from me and my Mom.  :(   How Brad escaped this I’ll never know.  Just lucky I guess.

See ya’ tomorrow and have a safe Memorial Day holiday!!

Sorry Heather

May 24, 2008

I have to preface this by saying that my mother-in-law (Brad’s Mom) is not fond of these creatures . . . at all. LOL  We do have geckos in our yard, but this is the first year that I’ve seen these little guys.  They are called anoles, rhymes with cannoli.  Anyway, they are bright green when in the bushes or grass, then turn brown when on the bricks or in the dirt.  They’re really more afraid of you than you are of them . . . well, except for Heather! ;)   We have about three or four that have been out and about lately.  I’ve seen one female, two males for sure, maybe three.  The female has a stripe down her back and she’s always brown, I think!  When the males become territorial or are mating, they do this crazy thing that looks like push-ups and then their throat flares out.  The thing on their throat is called a dewlap and it’s bright pinkish red in color.  I did get a picture of that too, but I didn’t want Heather to have a heart attack!  I’ll try to show it later after she recovers from this picture!!

Here’s our new friend!  Sorry Heather . . . . . really!

We also had a mini family photo shoot this afternoon since we don’t have any recent pics of all of us together.  Whoa baby that was tough!!  I just had the camera set on an interval timer and it was difficult getting Kasen to actually look in the direction of the camera.  I mean, nobody’s there, what IS there to look at?! LOL  If I’m brave, I’ll show you some of the outtakes!! LOL

See ya’ tomorrow!!

Not Too Talkative

May 23, 2008

Kasen is still coughing, but at least not throwing up!!  Thank goodness.  She is so tired of being cooped up in this house, as am I.  We keep taking her outside to expend some of all that bottled up energy, but it doesn’t seem to be enough!  Needless to say, I’m exhausted and tired of all of this.  I have so much on my plate right now, but I can’t get to it all.  Thankfully this is a long weekend, meaning Brad is home to help out. (yay!!)  We’re definitely planning on getting more sunshine therapy and spending lots of time in the pool.  Do you think that will wear her out?  I sure hope so!!!!!!!

Here’s a cute little pic of Kasen, with a vintage action.

Still feeling a bit under the weather, so I’ll leave you with an oldie, but goodie.  Can you believe that these are the same two girls in my blog header?  Wow, what a difference a year makes!!

Going to bed and hoping to be back tomorrow.

A Kasen Cutie

May 18, 2008

Kasen has been diligently watering the hanging basket of flowers that I so sorely neglected.  I seriously thought it was a lost cause, so I just told her to "have at it." LOL  Welllll, in between the brown disasters appeared something new . . . . flowers blooming again-pink AND white, AND even green leaves!!   And Kasen couldn’t be prouder.  She screamed today, "My flowers are growing. Look! Look!"  We told her how beautiful they were and it was because of her that they looked so gorgeous and grew so much – ALL because of her hard work!!  She of course already knew that! haha  But after we told her for the thousandth time how pretty they were, she replied "Yeah, and they have lipstick on ‘em." LOL  I guess flowers that incredibly colorful must have had to touch themselves up a bit, dontcha think?! :)

Here’s the example of her hard work paying off – guess I could learn a thing or two from a TWO year old!! hurumph!

See ya’ tomorrow!!
