I woke up feeling a tiny bit better, but this deep chest cough is knocking me for a loop.  Hopefully the kids won’t act up TOO much today, because I’m exhausted.

Here’s our little guy, which we now affectionately call “our little bulldog” on occasion.  Look at those teeth and you’ll see why! LOL  I’m thinking he’ll be needing some orthodontic treatment in his future. ;)

Holden is such a sweetheart.  He says “Mama,” “Uh ohhhhh,” and “Wow.”  Has the best belly laugh, but you have to work super hard to get it, or my trick, just tickle him all over.  He is sooo ticklish, from his squishy little neck, to the palms of his hands, to the bottom of his chubby little feet.  He adores Kasen, but will definitely let us know when she’s getting on his nerves with a loud, throaty, “Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!”  Outside is one of his favorite places to be, especially in his swing or in the pool.  We think he’s going to be a fish like his big sister, which will be sooo cool.  They can wear each other out! :D  He likes to be picked up and would love for me to carry him on my hip allllll day, but that’s just not happening.  He’s almost 23 pounds and that’s heavy!  However; he’s not much of a snuggler at all.  At night, after he finishes his last bottle, I will say “Awwwww” and then he will lay his head on my chest.  I always say, “Oh, are you my little cuddle bug?”  Then, almost as soon as he puts his head on my chest, he lifts it and shakes his head “Nooooo.”  Little turkey.  We do this about 10 times every single night.  I love it.  His legs kick like crazy when he’s happy and he can crawl at rocket speed.  His favorite place to crawl as fast as he can is to the master bathtub.  He crawls up on the side and turns the water on, and stands there bouncing up and down because he’s so unbelievably proud of himself.  I had just sat him on the floor this morning after he had breakfast and before I could even get the bottle washed out, I had to run to see where he went.  Yep, there he was, already crawling up the side of the tub.  When he saw me, he turned away from me quickly and turned the water on before I could get to him.  All the while screaming happy screams.  Silly boy.  And yes, we keep our bedroom door closed because of this.  Obviously not fast enough this morning though.  He is the best sleeper and a great eater.  I don’t think he can top Kasen on the “great eater” front, but we’re willing to give it a try.  What a blessing he has been to our lives.  He brightens my every morning with his sweet smile and his adorable babbling.  Without further ado (and because I started this post four hours ago!) . . . . . . . . .finally, here’s our little chunky monkey.

Outdoor Fun

April 29, 2010

Life has been busy, as usual.  I woke up super sick this morning and that hasn’t been fun AT.ALL.  Thank goodness for my in-laws and my husband who completely took over child care so I could get some much needed rest.  I still feel really crummy, but I’m hoping by this weekend, I can start to feel myself again.  I’ve been taking pictures, but I just have not had the energy to edit them and post them.  When I start to feel better, I’m definitely going to work on that – I know some people have been missing my updates and I’m sorry about that. :(

Kasen has been her usual spunky self and now that her Mae Mae and Papa have returned from their vacation, she’s even better!  Holden is still climbing all over the place and he just about gives me a heart attack when I find him standing on a chair or a stool.  Crazy kid.  Kasen is still quite enthralled with him, and just told me the other day, “I sure love him.  I’m so glad I have a little brother.  You know that don’t you?!  Be-cuzzzzzzzzz, I wanted a baby SISTER.  Remember that?” LOL I have to admit it was hard for her when we kept telling her that he was a girl.  Well, we thought he was too.  Imagine our surprise when we found out our she was a he. :D  That was pretty hard on Kasen at first, because we had really built it up that she was going to have a baby sister.  Thank goodness she loves him.  We do too. :D

I’ve been taking a lot of pictures of the kids playing in our backyard.  We’re out there every single day.  They both LOVE being outside and our weather has just been gorgeous.

Happy Easter!!

April 3, 2010

Yep, I’ve been absent again.  So much going on and me just trying to survive. ;)

We had a great day of hunting Easter eggs, playing at the park, running around our neighborhood, having a fantastic dinner at Brad’s parents’ house, more hunting egss, blowing bubbles, and topping off the evening with a few Wii games.  Fun, fun!! :D

Here’s Kasen standing next to our neighbor’s art work.  They used 3D chalk, which is why Kasen is sporting their 3D glasses.  I used my brand new fish eye lens here – I received that for my birthday this past week.  And if you were wondering, I’m now 29! ;)  It’s a great number and I’m thinking I’ll be 29 for many, many years to come! LOL :)

Have a Blessed Easter!!!!!

Happy Halloween!!!!

October 31, 2009

Pumpkins, candy, hayrides, picnics, fall festivals, petting zoos, running through mazes made of hay, pony rides, trunk-or-treat, cotton candy, corny dogs, trick-or-treating, popcorn, dressing up, making crafts, feeding the goats, barrel rides, bean bag tosses, bounce houses, pumpkin rolling, and more.  Whew!!!!  These are just some of the fun things we’ve been doing this October.  I hope your October was full of fun as well. :D

From Kasen – Happy Halloween!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

New week, new contest.  At least this week I’m not struggling to get my entry in before the contest closes.  I’m a day ahead!!  Wooohooo!!  And for those of you checking, still no news on the baby.  We are eagerly awaiting the call though!! ;)

This week’s photo contest theme for the kids entry is “Let’s Hear It For the Boys!” ~ Must be a photo of a boy or boys. No girls allowed this week!

Don’t forget to check out all the other cool entries at I Heart Faces

This is one of my very favorite boy shots – it’s our cousin’s son.  The camo hat, his gorgeous eyes, and that sweet grin just make the picture super special to me! :)

For my adult entry – the same theme goes – “Let’s Hear It For The Boys” ~Must be a photo of a man/men. No ladies allowed this week!

Don’t forget to check out the other great entries here~ I Heart Faces

This picture was taken at the end of a photo shoot and little “Z” was tuckered out.  He’s snuggling his bear and Daddy is snuggling him – too precious.  I adore the look on Dad’s face – you can tell that he is totally smitten with his son. :)

Sneak Peek

March 28, 2009

I had the pleasure of photographing a little sweetie this morning.  I have photographed her big brother, before and after he was born (and I’d post the links to those pics if I wasn’t so lazy to go and find them right now-LOL).  But I haven’t had a chance to photograph this little cutie until now.  And trust me when I say, she is a CUTIE!!   I know a took a LOT of close up shots of that sweet face, but once her eyes lock on yours, there is no turning away.  Seriously, she just draws you in with that gaze, and you stare at her in amazement, wondering what is going through that precious little head of hers.  Well, I’ll just pretend that she likes me. LOL  I sure hope so, ‘cuz I’m in LOVE with her.  Her parents better not keep her away from me that long again, or I might go into withdrawals. ;)   Not to mention that she loves the camera and it adores her right back.

I told her Mom that I would post a sneak peek of the session today, and I know that she is eagerly anticipating its arrival here on my blog.  So, without further ado, here is the beautiful Miss Azure.

There are SO many more that I just LOVE, but these jumped out at me immediately. :)

March 16, 2009

This is just an idea for a photo that I had last Friday, and I really love how it turned out.  The play gun that Kasen is holding was my brother’s play gun when he was a little boy.  Kasen had never seen it until right before this photo shoot.  I put it in her hand and asked her to pretend to blow.  She did.  She let me take three shots (pics), and this was the first one I took.  Lucky me! ;)   After Kasen went to bed,  I asked for Brad’s assistance to help me since I wanted to photograph smoke . . . and I certainly couldn’t do that on my own.  He lit a few matches and blew them out, and I was able to capture the smoke the way I wanted.  I then took the two photos and merged them together and this is what I got. :)   Just a fun shot that reminds of the old western photos that they used to take at Six Flags over Texas.   I wonder if they still do that?  And if you’re concerned or wondering, the play guns are back in lock-up. ;)

Here’s my little cowgirl, or maybe she’s the sheriff????

Monthly Letter Postponed

October 10, 2008

I've tried, but I just can't tonight.  I've started Kasen's 38 month letter, but I have quite a bit more I want to say.  Soooo, I'll try to have it finished by this weekend. *crossing fingers*

Have a GREAT weekend!!!!!
